Hiii, I'm Sophi and today I'm going to tell you about some interesting facts about technology, such as the advantages and disadvantages of technology, what it's for and more.

What is technology? 💻 

Technology, the application of scientific knowledge to the practical aims of human life or, as it is sometimes phrased, to the change and manipulation of the human environment.

Etymological meaning of technology 📷 

The word Technology: comes from the Greek word Tecno (tekne) = technique = ability, skill. It is what we colloquially call "practice". Logía (logos) = science = knowledge, study. It is what we colloquially call "theory".

What is the use of technology today? 📡

Although science and technology are sometimes confused with one and the same thing, technology is science applied to the solution of its objectives. It is used today in almost everything around us, from the home, to the workplace, to major industries, to forms of transportation, to distance learning, to data storage, to Internet business, to extraction of materials from the earth, among many other examples.

Advantages of technology 💬

• Facilitates learning. 

• Breaks the distance barrier. 

• Simplifies tasks. 

• Provides entertainment. 

• Increased productivity and efficiency. 

• Increases life expectancy. 

• Creates new jobs.

• Dehumanization.

Importance of technology 📼

Technology is useful and beneficial in many areas, especially in ours, the information area, since it allows us to improve the organization of work in our lives (professional and personal), to reduce repetitive tasks, to improve the internal management of a process, to offer and receive more and better individual and collective services.

As part of the process of adaptation of society to contemporary technological changes, the library has not been an exception to these changes, since they have led it to integrate high technology and the most advanced processes of organization and storage of information so that the services offered are excellent and updated.
